Ballaglass - Spring 10 in the Isle of Man

              Ballaglass

   Day 1

This package will include a visit to the largest water wheel in the world, situated in Laxey. 'The Lady Isabella' Built in 1854, she is 72 ½ ft in diameter with 6ft. wide paddles.  Climb to the top of the wheel and drink the atmosphere & views that is displayed before you. There is a magnificent waterfall at this location too. We can experiment with different shutter speeds to produce some very different effects.

Sunrises & Sunsets  offer the best light of the day. Ramseys' Queen pier at sunrise is the place to be,situated a stones throw away from your B&B. On the west coast we can either visit Niarbyl (Waking Ned Filmed on location here) or Peel Castle flloodlit(named sunset city).

Ballaglass Glen is lovely at this time of year with cascading water flowing gently downstream. Waterfalls spouting from the peaks to the deep pools below. Sunlit trees giving an explosion of sunrays. The bluebells carpets the woods in magnificent splendour. A trip not to be missed. Here we will have the opportunity for some macro photography if desired, flowers, fungi, insects etc. are in abundance. There are many viewpoints of the falls so everyone will be able to capture different images from different angles. Here we will learn the different effects that neutral density filters produce. The filters slow down your shutter speeds creating that beautiful milky effect and the water.

Day 2

A Stroll through the valley of Tholt y will will give you breaktaking views and plenty of photo opportunities. Steep craggy rocks, carpets of bluebells & streams, you never know what else you may find along the way.

An ancient ruin village 'The Braid'  has some fine (celtic/Norse) standing stones as your foreground interest for the rest of the  surrounding landscape. Finally we'll  head west to catch the sun setting.
