                                                 About us

Diane McCudden will be your  tutor, an experienced photographer, she has a love of the outdoors and concentrates on landscapes and seascapes, some of which have been published. Her interest in photography started  at an early age with the usual point & shoot camera, then she moved onto a Pentax Asahi KM. As technology progressed into digital photography & after a trip to Africa with a compact digital camera, (producing mediocre images), Diane quickly invested in a DSLR, and hasn't looked back since. She doesn't miss the endless rolls of film,& waiting in anticipation to see the results .

In 2007 she decided to persue a career in photography, by gaining commissions for prints & canvases and supplying local retailers with her work including greeting cards of scenes, flora & fauna from around the Island. Diane has also published a Calendar for 2011. To view the Calendar use the link: www.celtic-moments.co.uk

After attending courses in the UK Diane decided that the Isle of Man could offer similar courses. So here we are today providing you the opportunity to have tuition on your doorstep. No need to worry about flights or ferries, trundling half way around the country with endless equipment is now a thing of the past.

The Glens especially 'Ballaglass Glen' is one of her favourite  locations. The everchanging flowing water & the different colours throughout the seasons offer timeless opportunites to photograph the same scene yet different.

The best coastlines in her opinion are of the Port Moar/Maughold area in the north of the island, and the chasms at the south of the island. Many breathtaking views can be captured at these locations.  Being a sea lover Diane also enjoys regular boat trips being enticed to different angles of landscapes. Rambling around the hills with 360  degrees  of spectacular views is a favourite pastime all year round, you never know what interesting objects you may come across to photograph as an added bonus.

                                                      About the Isle of Man

Photography is very prominent in the Isle of Man - not surprising with the stunning landscapes and rugged coastlines to capture. Early morning and late evening offer the best light to photograph an array of landscapes. The dedicated landscape photographer can shoot from dawn to dusk.   There are 17 National Glens with many fragrant wild flowers in spring and summer, waterfalls, and small flowing cascades of water.

The Manx National Heritage sites are situated island wide and include castles, abbeys, lighthouses, crofters villages & thatched cottages (where the film Waking Ned made)  each having its own exciting story to tell. The 'Lady Isabella' the largest water wheel in the world resides in Laxey Village, also The 'Lady Evelyn'  it's smaller sister is local to Laxey.
