Introduction to Digital SLR Photography
Single lens Reflex (SLR) cameras are those where you see through the actual lens that takes the photograph. You can use interchangeable lenses to suit the subject you are shooting.
Compact cameras differ in the fact that what you see through the viewfinder doesn't necessarily correlate directly with the final image. These cameras have a limited fixed zoom lens.
This introduction is ideal for those considering moving into Digital SLR format photography. Diane McCudden has a variety of cameras which are supplied so you can see the difference between entry level cameras to a more professional level camera.
Digital SLR cameras are relatively easy to use, there are automatic settings for those who prefer the camera to do all the work and there are Manual settings for those who wish to be more creative. Tuition is also available on how to use your camera effectively once you have purchased one.
